Company History
S&S Machine was started by Jimmy Guest and BJ Miller in 1977 in Jimmy’s garage in Irving Texas. The worked as machinists for a local company and machined odd jobs in the garage after they finished their fulltime job. They were the American Entrepreneur success story. They moved to our current location in 1982 in Irving Texas and the company has thrived for 48 years. As they grew, they knew that the Aerospace and Defense business was the sector they wanted to be involved in. In 1989, Jimmy bought Mr. Miller shares and continued the path that had been cleared for many years as sole owner and President. After many years of the helm, Jimmy Guest turned over the reins to Michael Guest who leads the company operations today, in collaboration with our CEO Jerri Lynn Guest, Michael continues to run the company with the “Do what is right for the customer and everything else will be okay” mentality. S&S Machine is proud to be one of the few independently owned businesses still in existence that is family owned and family operated. We are very proud of this company and teammates we employ. Our job is to continue the legacy of being the best of the best for the warfighter and all commercial airlines in the country. In Memory of Our Founder: Jimmy Guest
January 11, 1947 – July 31, 2020
Jimmy Guest, founder of S&S Machine, was a man of vision and dedication. Starting S&S from a garage with Bill “Red” Miller, Jimmy grew the company into a leader in the Aerospace and Defense industries. His passion for precision machining and his commitment to quality continue to define S&S today.
Beyond his work, Jimmy and his wife Jerri Lynn Guest built a ranch where they raised champion cutting horses and founded Guest Exotic Hunting, hosting charitable events that supported causes like Juvenile Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, and Wounded Warriors.
Jimmy’s love for family, friends, and his community was central to his life. His legacy now continues through Michael Guest and the company he proudly built. Though he is deeply missed, Jimmy’s spirit lives on in the values and excellence of S&S Machine.
